[A HIKAYAT (A SHORT FABLE WITH A MORAL, FOLK TALE) ABOUT THE LOVE FOR DUNYA]
Note that: one day Hazrat Pir Dastgeer the Much Loved by Allah Almighty stepped out of his house and found Iblees (Satan) on his threshold. He asked him what he was doing there. Go away! Iblees said your servant has went in your house with a Dirham (a unit of currency) and he has been waiting outside to get is back as the wealth of Dunya is my Mata e Qaleel (filthy stuff).
‘Qaleel’ also means that piece of cloth that has become impure with the menstruation bleeding by a woman. Allah Almighty says: “the comfort of this world is scant’
and Iblees said that Sir that (Dirham) is much dear to me and whoso keeps eye on worldly riches is my brother as he is irreligious. He is showered with my curse! Hazrat Pir Dastgeer went in his house and took that Dirham from the hands of his servant and gave that to Satan. Satan kissed that coin and touched it with his eyes in with love. Hazrat Pir Shah Moheyuddin enquired about from the accursed Satan that why he did so in that fashion.
Iblees replied that Sir money and wealth is much dear to me like my life blood, whoso holds these in hands with love, the impulse of their essence reaches to his heart which turn his heart into a dark chamber and he turns his face aside of the way of virtue and becomes a prey to arrogance, false pride, lust, desire, greed, jealousy, greediness and similar impure elements and is misled from the right path. Iblees further added that Sir, followers of lust whether Aalims or learned or ignorant or pious Fakir – all are my Talib and my Murid because Dunya is my Murid and those who are its captives are my captives. Everyone who gathers stuff of Dunya in his house becomes my brother and then I consider that house where my buddy brother lives dearer to my life and I snatch away his Eimaan and cease it for him.
